Accounting Internships
Our accounting department has an active, highly regarded internship program in the Wichita community. Every year our accounting students complete internships at Koch Industries and more than 90% are offered full-time positions upon graduation. We also carry internships with Cargill, Spirit, Bombardier, Cessna and Beechcraft. These locations, as well as others in the Wichita community, can allow you to gain experience in auditing, taxes, consulting, corporate banking, stocks and investments, and more. Our loyal alumni routinely ask for our best accounting students for internships.

Looking for a Certification Instead of an MBA degree?
The Newman University School of Business also offers a Graduate Data Analytics Certificate. The certificate program is designed to be completed within one year and is for:
- Individuals who have already completed a bachelor’s degree and wish to sharpen their skills or for the MBA graduate. The certificate coursework can later be directly applied toward the MBA degree concentration.
- Individuals who have already completed an MBA, or other graduate degree, can further develop their professional training by completing additional graduate certificates in any of the supplemental fields offered by the Newman School of Business.

Data Analytics Course Descriptions
BSAD 6433 Data Analysis & Visualization
This course will explore current trends in data analysis, with a focus on descriptive analytics and data visualization. Students will develop proficiency in designing and developing interactive digital dashboards using software such as Tableau Desktop, Microsoft Power BI, etc.
BSAD 6434 Data Programming
A graduate-level survey of current database technologies, with hands-on experience designing, managing, and querying databases. Includes training in SQL for composing queries.
BSAD 6863 Descriptive & Predictive Analytics
Students will deepen their understanding of data analysis processes, tools, and techniques, including both descriptive and predictive analytics. Students will advance their proficiency with industry-leading analytics and visualization software and refine their presentation and reporting skills.
BSAD 6873 Data Analytics Seminar
Advanced study of current trends, methods, and techniques in data analysis processes and procedures, culminating in one or more significant projects, designed to prepare students to play a leadership role in real-world analytics projects.
