What if I don’t have the required GPA?
Applicants not meeting the minimum GPA requirements for unconditional admission may still be considered for admission. Contact the director of graduate education, Cindy Spriggs, for a transcript review and interview.

What semesters can a student be admitted to the MSED programs?
Fall, Spring and Summer - all degree and licensure programs when there are enough students to start a cohort. Note: Students can also be admitted in the second half or 2nd 8 weeks of a semester.
What are the application deadlines?
Our “soft deadlines” allow for sufficient time to have your application reviewed; please submit all materials by August 1st for the fall semester, January 1st for the spring semester but applications are still taken after these dates.

What financial aid is available?

How many credit hours must I be enrolled in to qualify for financial aid?
6 credit hours is considered full time in graduate education; 3 hours is considered half-time and if in a degree seeking program, you can still apply for financial aid.
How do I apply for a Stafford Student Loan?
A student will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. After Newman has received the FAFSA, an mail will be sent to the student or will be available to accept online through your online student account. First time borrowers will need to complete two online forms at www.studentloans.gov which are the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling.
Does Newman University offer payment plans?
