Creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization is a must in today’s society. The Newman Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Concentration strengthens personal and situational awareness, interpersonal understanding, and non-judgmental acceptance of others with regard to differences and similarities—all essential keys to creating a welcoming work environment. Courses in the DEI concentration are structured to facilitate reflection and discussion of important issues in order to foster a deeper understanding of cultural diversity and context.

Who is the DEI Concentration Designed For?

The MBA in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is designed to help employees and managers navigate the work environment more effectively. Additionally, the goal of this certificate is to provide employees and managers with the tools to deepen their understanding and acknowledge the differences around them, overcome the barriers that create inclusion, and specifically communicate more effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, making the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Concentration highly valuable to any career or industry.

Looking for a Certification Instead of an MBA degree?

The Newman University School of Business also offers a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate. The certificate program is designed to be completed within one year and is for:

  • Individuals who have already completed a bachelor’s degree and wish to sharpen their skills  or for the MBA graduate. The certificate coursework can later be directly applied toward the MBA degree concentration.
  • Individuals who have already completed an MBA, or other graduate degree, can further develop their professional training by completing additional graduate certificates in any of the supplemental fields offered by the Newman School of Business.
