MBA Admission Criteria 

What are the admission criteria?
Undergraduate degree in any major
Minimum 3.0 GPA overall or 3.2 in the final 60 hours of coursework

What if I don’t have a 3.0 GPA?
Applicants not meeting the minimum GPA requirements for unconditional admission may still be considered for admission with other evidence of ability to complete the program of study.  Contact the director of graduate admissions for specifics.

Is the GMAT or GRE required?
No.

Am I required to have work experience?
No.

Do you interview applicants?
No.

What semesters can a student be admitted to the MBA program?
Any semester.

What are the application deadlines?
Admission is rolling, but to allow sufficient to time have your application reviewed, please submit all materials 2-3 weeks before your intended enrollment.  

Are there any required prerequisite courses?
The MBA program highly recommends Financial Accounting, Macroeconomics, Statistics, and College Algebra.

Can I transfer graduate credit from another MBA program?
A maximum of 6 graduate credit hours may be transferred from other accredited institutions at the discretion of the MBA program director.   Hours accepted for transfer must contribute to the student’s program of study and be preapproved by the program director.

What types of loans are available?

If my employer provides tuition reimbursement, what do I need to do?

Does Newman University offer payment plans?
Yes.  Students may enroll in a monthly payment plan through NBS e-Cashier Automatic Payment Program.   The following is a link to information on the payment plan program:  Newman Payment Plan Information

Does Newman offer any scholarships for MBA students?

Newman does offer an alumni scholarship. Contact the Program Director to see if you qualify.

Program Structure and Format

How many credits does it take to complete the program?
36 credit hours – 12 courses

Are classes offered online or on-campus?
The entire program is offered online and in a hybrid format.

What concentrations are available?
Leadership, Business Analytics, and Health Care Administration.

Can I see concentration course schedules?
Business Analytics, DEI, Healthcare Administration, Leadership, Nonprofit Management, as well as a customizable, stackable general MBA.

Where can I find a course schedule?

Select the term and “Business Administration” for the Department and click “Search” to display the current schedule.
Please note that information regarding required textbooks can be found by clicking on “Materials” in the far right column of the interactive course schedule.  

How long do classes last?
Most classes are 8-week sessions.  

Is the MBA accredited?
Yes. Newman University's MBA program is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission – North Central Association.
