Degree Requirements & Curriculum
Program Structure
30 credit hours | 10 coursesSummer Intensive Courses (Chemistry Content): Two chemistry courses offered each summer during one-week intensive sessions in June. Collaborate with fellow chemistry educators to deepen content knowledge and explore innovative teaching methods.
Fall & Spring Semesters (Education Core): Eight-week courses delivered through flexible online format with live and recorded Zoom sessions. Complete coursework in curriculum theory, instructional strategies, educational research, and professional writing.
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemistry education, or related field
- Current teaching license (or eligibility for community college teaching)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
- Two letters of recommendation
