Tutoring Services

Tutoring Center (NEW location!)

The Tutoring Center has moved to the Student Success Center on the first floor of Dugan Library!

Any Newman student may receive in-person help from a subject tutor by a scheduled appointment OR as a drop-in student. Drop-ins will receive help on a first come, first served basis and only when a tutor is available. Subject tutors are qualified to help with at least 2000-level coursework in biology, chemistry, math, physics, writing, and more. Subject tutors come recommended by Newman faculty, receive ongoing training, and may have firsthand experience in your course or with your professor.

Read our mission statement and promise to students.

TutorMe Positives

  • It offers help in over 300 subjects, including test prep for GMAT, GRE, MCAT & more.
  • Tutoring help is available in multiple languages.
  • Options for asynchronous writing help. Just upload your paper for feedback. The tutor won't edit your paper.
  • Options for help at 3 AM. TutorMe tutors live around the world. Your 3 AM might be their 9 AM.

TutorMe Limitations

  • Tutors will not be familiar with your specific Newman courses or Newman professors.
  • You may need to work with multiple tutors before you find one you like.
  • Technology is required. You'll need a computer, internet connection, and working video and audio.
