Once during each course, usually after three weeks of study, all students in the course are invited to participate in an intensive weekend session. These weekends are dedicated to course content requiring in-depth or additional explanation, and are also a time when guest speakers may be invited to address the cohort on a topic related to the course under study. Additionally, the Intensive Weekends provide an opportunity for real time, synchronous interaction with the course instructor and with the other members of the cohort, thereby deepening the sense of community and group cohesion.
For some courses, the weekend includes a Friday evening session lasting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Most courses meet only on a Saturday, with the session normally lasting from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CST). The schedule for the Intensive Weekends will be distributed during Orientation at the beginning of your program of study.
Students in the Wichita area, and those able to travel to Wichita, are invited to participate in the weekend session on-campus. On campus students will meet in a Zoom enabled room so that they can interact with online students participating remotely.
