Project SONRISA

Ensuring healthy smiles for Guatemalan children

Project SONRISA supports the dental health education campaign through the Sangre de Cristo Health Care Project founded by ASC Sister Dani Brought (Sisters of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ) in Guatemala. Funds allow the Health Care Project to provide education and health care to under-served area children. Each dollar gets a good toothbrush to a child, so your donations help children enjoy a healthier, happier life.

An Integral Part of Newman University's Guatemala Study and Serve Program

During our service week with the Sisters of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ and their community in La Labor, Guatemala, students and faculty will collaborate with Project staff and professionals in a variety of health and education tasks, including a children's dental health campaign. 100% of your gift goes toward toothbrushes, and after the oral health education, the Health Care Project can provide a free annual dental exam and cleaning for each child.

How Can I Help?

Make an online donation to our project! 100% of your gift will go toward the purchase of high-quality toothbrushes for the children.

Please note that in past years we took gifts-in-kind, or actual toothbrushes to Guatemala. Logistics and associated expenses make financial gifts much more useful, and are what our partners at the Sangre de Cristo Health Care Project request.
