Choral Music Audition Requirements
For an in person audition, students will need to perform two contrasting, stylistic pieces, such as a Broadway piece and art song, like one previously performed for a regional or state music competition, for example. Students must bring accompaniment tracks, if available, as an accompanist may not always be available. Memorization is NOT mandatory. Auditioning students will also need to perform the " Star-Spangled Banner” a capella in the note of choice. In addition, students may be asked to sight read, match pitch, etc. For the audition, students must bring a letter of recommendation from a high school instructor or church director.
For a virtual audition, students are expected to follow the same requirements listed above, excluding being asked to sight read, match pitch, etc.
Please contact the Director of the Music Department, Deanne Zogleman, at [email protected] or 316-942-4291, Ext. 2196 to schedule an audition.
