Prayer Requests

10-18-2022

Please pray for Gina Crabtree, a former student and then colleague of Christine Schneikart-Luebbe, our Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success. Gina’s mother, Sheri Nolen, has been struggling with multiple health issues, which are causing a myriad of medical concerns. Sheri has recently moved to Wichita and is need of our prayers for healing and a restoration to overall well-being.

“I will lead them and restore full comfort to them and to those who mourn for them, creating words of comfort.

Peace! Peace to those who are far and near, says the Lord; and I will heal them.”

-Isaiah 67: 18-19

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Frank Felts, husband of Joan Felts, a longtime professor and dean of Newman University’s School of Nursing and Allied Health until her retirement in 2007. Please pray that Frank is quickly engulfed in the loving and glorious gaze of God. And may God accompany his loved ones still on earth through their mourning and sorrow.

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

-Romans 8:38-39

10-04-2022

Please pray for Newman student Colby Wilson, who was hit in the head by a comeback line drive during a scrimmage this past week. Please pray for good news from the doctor and a speedy recovery.

Please pray for Mark, a dear friend of Professor Wendy Sahatjian. Mark has been undergoing treatment for Glioblastoma (brain cancer) and has taken a turn for the worse. Your prayers and positive energy for Mark and his family will be much appreciated!

"I sought the Lord, and he answered me, delivered me from all my fears. Look to him and be radiant, and your faces may not blush for shame. This poor one cried out and the Lord heard, and from all his distress he saved him. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he saves them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the stalwart one who takes refuge in him.”

-Psalms 34:5-9

Please pray for Zach Cerre, a friend of a student here at Newman University. Zach has been experiencing an unusual number of seizures the past couple of weeks. Please pray that God will extend his healing touch to this young man—that through the work of Zach’s healthcare team, he can recover health and happiness quickly.

Please pray for Daniel, the son of Kathie Bills (the previous manager of Mail and Copy at Newman University). Daniel is on a ventilator, experiencing serious and life-threatening health issues. May God intercede quickly, blessing Daniel and those around him with a diagnosis and a path to restoration.

Finally, please pray for Nathan Veith and his family. Nathan was the young student from St. Francis of Assisi who was hit by a car on his bike ride to school Tuesday morning. Although he has been stabilized through medical sedation, he is still in critical condition. Please pray for the healing of this young boy. And may God provide rest and strength to his family and friends and healthcare team as they work around the clock to secure his recovery.

“Lord, be gracious to us; for you we wait.

Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of trouble!”

-Isaiah 33:2
