Newman University prepares graduates for careers as future sonographers by meeting the educational requirements to apply for certification in the state of Kansas. Graduates of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program will earn recommendation to sit for certification in Kansas. The program requirements may not meet certification requirements for other states.

Respiratory Care Program

Newman University prepares graduates for careers as future respiratory therapists by meeting the educational requirements to apply for the National Board for Respiratory Car (NBRC) Therapist Multiple Choice (TMC) examination and Clinical Simulation Examination (CSE), which leads to the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. The Newman University’s program is designed to meet the educational requirements of for national credentialing exams and licensure in Kansas. Additional requirements for licensure may be required for other states.
School of Business – Accounting program
Certification Disclosure
Students earning the Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree that plan to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination in the state of Kansas must complete 150 total college credit hours. 30 credit hours must be earned in accounting, 9 credit hours in economics, including one upper division class at the 3000-4000 level.

The Newman University BSW and MSW Programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation. Newman University recommends that you contact the appropriate state credentialing board in the state in which you reside or wish to be employed, prior to beginning a course of study to determine whether the program you are considering will meet that state’s credentialing requirements. We cannot confirm whether the Newman University program meets the requirements for professional credentialing in states outside of Kansas or Colorado.
Professional Licensure Disclosure
Newman University's Social Work Programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and meet the requirements to apply for licensing examinations in Kansas and Colorado. Please be aware that state requirements for licensure may vary, and it is the individual’s responsibility to comply with those requirements. Students who plan to practice in states outside Kansas or Colorado are encouraged to contact their state’s social work licensing board to identify other requirements for licensure.

Teacher Education Program
The Teacher Education Program at Newman University is accredited by the Kansas State Department of Education (900 SW Jackson Street, Topeka, Kansas 66612); and by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) 1140 19th St NW, Suite 400 1140 19th St NW, Suite 400 Washington, DC 20036). This accreditation covers the Teacher Education Program at Newman University; however, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes.
Licensure Disclosure
Newman University prepares future teachers for licensure in the state of Kansas. Completers of the program of study within the Teacher Education Program will earn recommendation for licensure in Kansas. The program requirements may not meet licensure requirements for other states. Students planning to seek teacher licensure outside of Kansas are strongly encouraged to meet with the Newman University Licensure Officer to discuss future plans. It is generally recommended that out-of-state licensure be obtained by first earning a Kansas teaching license and then transferring that license to another state.
