Kelly McFall

Kelly McFall is Professor of History at Newman University and teaches Modern European and World History classes. He received his doctorate from Ohio State University in 1998 and joined Newman in the summer of 2005. His professional interests lie in the history of violence, especially comparative genocide, and the history of women’s sports.  He brings these interests to his classroom by teaching classes such as Comparative Genocide, The Holocaust and its Legacies, and NSP classes that focus on utopian and dystopian literature and memoirs and novels about combat.  He’s also author of several games in the Reacting to the Past Series, including The Needs of Others:  Human Rights, International Organizations and Intervention in Rwanda, 1994 (Norton, 2018) and (with Abigail Perkiss)  Changing the Game:  Title IX, Gender and Athletics at American Universities (forthcoming from Norton). In his spare time, when he is not rooting for the Kansas City Royals, you can usually find him at the YMCA working out or watching one of his daughters row or play softball.
