Debbie Strickert

Debbie Strickert is beginning her 26th year as an Associate Professor of Nursing. She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Clinical Nurse Specialist-Adult. She teaches Adult Nursing Care 1, a medical-surgical nursing course in Newman's BSN program. She also co-coordinates the RN Refresher course. She works PRN as a Diabetic Nurse Educator and has experience reviewing medical cases for local attorneys.

Currently working with colleagues on a systematic review of the literature on Ventilator Associated Pneumonia and doing research critiques on related topics.

  • Part of Newman University Speaker's Bureau and available to present to organizations and groups on the topic "The Epidemic of Type 2 Diabetes."
  • Currently working with colleagues to publish an article "Oral Care Quality-A Precision Health Marker to Prevent Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia." This will be updated research to the published article "Oral Care and Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia: An Integrated Review of the Literature" published in Dimensions of Critical Care Nursing.
