Prayer Requests

Please pray for all those who have been affected by Hurricane Fiona, particularly the country of Puerto Rico. We pray that God will protect and strengthen all the first responders who are battling floods, power outages, and landslides. May God work through the hands of many others in the wake of this destruction, providing charity for those who have lost their loved ones or their livelihoods.

"On that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem: Do no fear, Zion, do not be discouraged! The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior, Who will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, Who will sing joyfully because of you, as on festival days.”

-Zephaniah 3:16-18

Please pray for Newman student, Teresa, and her family. Teresa’s mother, Tracy, was recently put on hospice care. Please pray that God will grant Tracy peace and comfort as she makes this transition and that he will strengthen all the family members and friends who accompany her on this final journey.

Please also pray for the mother of Newman student Jose Morales. Jose’s mother recently underwent an examination to determine the source of some health concerns. May God grant this family strength and peace as they wait for the results. We also pray that God will guide her healthcare team to an accurate diagnosis and a path to healing.  Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin. So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help.”

-Hebrews 4:15-16

The sister of one of our nursing students here at Newman University passed away last week. Please pray for the repose of this woman's soul. May God give comfort and peace to the family and friends who mourn this loss.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be."

-John 14:1-4
