Once during each course, usually after three weeks of study, the entire cohort gathers on the campus of Newman University for an Intensive Weekend of study. These weekends are time dedicated to course content requiring in-depth or additional explanation. They are a time when guest speakers may be invited to address the cohort on a topic related to the course under study. These Intensive Weekends also provide an opportunity for face-to-face interaction with the course instructor and with the other members of the cohort, thereby deepening the sense of community and group cohesion. These Intensive Weekends also provide opportunities for additional questions for the instructor as well as a time for field trips or group projects for the cohort.
Typically, the Friday evening session lasts from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Saturday session normally lasts from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All Intensive Weekend sessions are held in room 118 of Eck Hall on the campus of Newman University. The schedule for the Intensive Weekends will be distributed at Orientation at the beginning of your program of study.
