Whether you live on campus in one of our four residence halls or you commute to campus from the local Wichita area, you will find many opportunities to grow and connect with your fellow students. With more that 30 academic clubs and organizations, honor societies, arts and music programs, NCAA Div. II Athletics and multiple leadership opportunities, Newman students truly are gaining the college experiences that allow them to get involved, have fun and make connections for the future.

Newman students expect more from their education, because they expect to do more with it. They expect to use the knowledge, skills and values they gain here to build successful professional careers- and to lead meaningful and satisfying lives.

Newman offers challenging academic programs. Our faculty members are known for their published scholarship, visual arts, scientific research, and real-world experience. At the same time, they are committed to your success and work to address your individual needs and concerns.

Newman offers small class sizes and low 15:1 student to teacher ratio’s as well as one-on-one attention and mentoring from faculty advisors from your chosen major. In a recent survey 100% of Newman students reported they had positive relationships with their professors.

Not only do our students succeed while they are at Newman, but they are prepared for the next level of their education as well. In 2008-2009 Newman students had a 97.5% pass rate for the state licensure exam and 93% of graduating nurses had jobs. 89% of Newman Universities Education graduates passed all Kansas licensure tests in their areas of specialization. Finally, 96% of Newman Universities Pre-Med. Graduates were accepted into medical schools with the other 4% working in other areas of health care like nursing and pharmacology.

Newman is a Catholic university rooted in the beliefs and life work of two outstanding educators. Drawing on the strengths of these two individuals, Newman Provides education for all and emphasizes moral and ethical decision-making in all aspects of life. Newman respects and ensures support for all students’ discovery of truth on their preferred faith traditions and offers programs to help students stay connected with their faith.

Campus Ministry offers a variety of programs and activities to help all students grow in their faith and relationship with God.
